The intro to this song is so cool! Be sure to tune your sixth string down to D. The opening riff starts with a slide down from the 12th fret. From there it's some pretty fast sixteenth notes.
Here is what I hope will be a fairly simple exercise that you can play, finger style. The melody is in the bass and should be played with the thumb. Follow the thumb with index, middle and ring fingers playing strings three, two and one respectively. Be sure to emphasize the melody!
Here's a great "Campfire" strum for Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. D D U U D D U U D = Down U = Up Here is a video of the melody. You can play this for the intro to the song and you can play it as the interlude between the verses. I'll add another video soon with the chord strums between the melody notes. And here's a video adding one simple strum on beat two of each measure.
Here is a beautiful song by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole called White Sandy Beach. This is a shortened version arranged for two ukulele's - melody and rhythm. If you want to play the melody and rhythm at the same time, look no further than the intro. The melody to the verses is woven through the chords in the intro. Aloha!
